Week 28: There will be three Yohkoh pass cancellations in W28 due to conflicts with Akebono. 5.2 Other None. 6. Special Operations: A joint-observing program between SOHO and Yohkoh (JOP057) was in progress in W27. We also had a VLA-Yohkoh collaborative observation in W27. 7. Holiday Schedule: July 7 (Monday) was a operations holiday. The next holiday will be Sunday-Monday, July 13-14 JST. 8. Hikitsugi Items: 8.1 Tohbans for W28 SSOC : Sawa, Nagata KSC : Yashiro, Kano 8.2 OP and Command Sheet Status Following a request from KSC tohbans, we prepared OP and command sheets that will be uploaded on July 8 (Tuesday) JST. The OP and command sheets have already been approved by KSC tohbans. Note, however, that the command sheets do not contain any possible SXT table uploads. SSOC tohbans for W28 should take care of this. (The next table upload will be in pass 1 of Tuesday JST.) 8.3 STT Timer setting The next STT Timer setting should be executed in Pass 2 (970708-1135) of 9-Jul-97 Wednesday (JST). 8.4 New Manual and Checksheet Versions A new version of the English Tohban Manual is now out. Future tohbans (beginning with this week's) should write corrections and updates directly in the manual, and inform A. Sterling of the changes. Jim Lemen has made a new version of the checksheet to correspond to the new manual. Changes to the checksheet should be marked on the checksheet and reported to A. Sterling. 8.5 Sirius Data Nothing to report. 8.6 Suggestion to DSN selection rule: mail from JPL I understand that you access RASM and choose the passes that are made available to you. We would like you to use the Wallops (WFF) passes as much as possible. In other words, if a pass from one of the DSN sites (Goldstone, Madrid or Canberra) can be substituted by a WFF pass, please use the WFF pass and delete the DSN pass, instead of vise versa. Please understand we are not asking you to give up any coverage but if the same coverage can be accomplished by using WFF instead of the DSN, we would like you to do so. (Albert Chang) 8.7 KSC / SSOC FAX delay In Week 27, FAX communications between KSC and SSOC were generally OK except in one occasion where a FAX sheet failed to arrive at SSOC from KSC. Both KSC and SSOC tohbans, please be advised to contact each other by phone (in addition to FAX) if it is important that communication be prompt. 8.8 Mail alias for DSN In accordance with Tohban procedures, the requests to cancel DSN passes were sent via KRASM, ftp, and email. The instructions for the DSN email address are confusing. Tohban Manual (p.35): "mail -s 'PRELIMINARY Schedule Request' >>>>>> dsnsched@dsn.jpl.nasa.gov < solasf_del.w##" : ** E-Mail this file ==>>> ',fileout to dsn i.e., >>>>>> flare11% dsn < ',fileout ;(/ydb/orbit_raw/strawman_del.w##) Please keep "dsn" alias up to date in the .mailrc files on both flare1 and flare11 Flare1:~yohkoh/.mailrc: alias dsn ... alias dsn_cc ... alias dsn_asca ... The shell command suggested by the program did not appear to work, or even be recognized. The Email Requests for the Preliminary and Strawman Schedules were sent to the "dsn" alias and to "dsnsched@dsn.jpl.nasa.gov". We received email notices that these messages were not received, but it is not apparent which addresses are the problem. It should be checked as to whether JPL properly received the Pass Cancellation Requests by email. It was recommended that the most up-to-date procedure to follow is that in the Tohban Manual, i.e. mail to dsnsched@dsn.jpl.nasa.gov . 9. Action Items None. End of Report
