1997 November 26 (M2.0)

A GOES M2.0 solar flare occurred on 1997 November 26 at an H-alpha location of N16E75 (heliographic coordinates). The soft X-ray flux began at 18:28 (66480 s), peaked at 18:35 (66900 s), and ended at 18:44 (67440 s) UT (GOES Geophysical Data Web Site). OSSE received a BATSE transient trigger at 66723 s and the four OSSE detectors slewed to the scan-angle position of the Sun and initiated +/- 4.5 degree on-source-off-source viewing strategies.

Significant emission up to about 200 keV was observed during one ~131 s data accumulation interval (66738-66943 s). High time resolution count rate time profiles are not yet available. A representative count spectrum is shown in Figure 1. The total fluence above 50 keV was 20.6 +/- 1.2 photons cm-2.
