The EAF provides office space for approximately 40 people, with both private and group areas, and will be connected to the Experimenters' Operations Facility (EOF) via high-speed fiber (FDDI) for transparent telecommnications between the two facilities. (The EOF in Building 3 and the EAF are approximately 1 km apart.)
While much of the facility is below grade, Goddard management was kind enough to have five large windows cut in the north wall of the EAF/GGS area. Natural lighting and the need for privacy while doing science were balanced by the use of divider panels whose top sections are glass in those segments parallel to the windows.
