Proposed SOHO - NEAR collaboration
At the last SWT, there was a short discussion of the proposed collaboration to
concentrate on E limb coronal mass ejections while the geometry was favorable
for such events to be sensed during a period when the
NEAR space probe is favorably located
for direct sensing of CME magnetic fields.
Dave Rust of APL has been
kind enough to provide the plot below, as well as a hardcopy proposal, copies
of which are available from Dave or
Joe Gurman.
Unfortunately, the version Dave provided me was monochrome; I added the current
trajectory segment in red (sorry for the crudeness), including the Eros
encounter.
