Note on Solar Radio Observations in Cracow The entire solar-disk observations are carried out daily at the Astronomical Observatory of the Jagellonian University in Cracow. The observations made with the 7 m single-dish radiotelescope at two frequencies: 810 MHz and 430 MHz were initiated on October 1, 1957 and March 1, 1966, respectively. Since 1980 the results of these observations have been published monthly in Monthly Report on Solar Radio Emission. Some previous observations have been published in the Acta Astronomica (see: Zieba S. 1973, 23, 159; Gula R. and Zieba S. 1975, 25, 427; Zieba S., Gula R. and Michalec A. 1976, 26, 35; Zieba S., Jaszczewska M. and Michalec A. 1982, 32, 93; Zieba S., Michalec A. and Hankus M. 1986, 36, 219; Zieba S., Chyzy K. and Michalec A. 1993, 43, 259; and references therein) together with details of the instrument. In 1993 we begun to reconstruct our receiver system and now a new 8 m antenna is also built. At present, we observe at 6 frequencies: 410, 650, 810, 980, 1350, 1450 MHz in dcm wavelengths region. The daily schedule of the observations is as follows: 08 50 to 09 00 - calibrations and background measurements 09 01 to 12 00 - observation of solar radio emission 12 01 to 12 10 - calibrations and background measurements 12 11 to 15 00 - observation of solar radio emission 15 01 to 15 10 - calibrations and background measurements The above hours are given in Central European Standard or Summer Time, that the Sun is observed from 08 to 14 UT or from 07 to 13 UT depending on the season of the year. The data are presented in generally in accepted form for Solar Radio Observations. At present, the observations are made by Dr. A. Michalec, M. Niesulowski, M. Sc. M. Rys, Dr. S. Zieba. Besides, Dr.S. Zieba, M. Niesulowski, A. Michalec, and M. Gierlinski are also responsible for data reduction and Dr. J. Machalski and Dr. A. Kulak - for proper running operation of the receiver and antenna system. The report is made by Dr. A. Michalec. Leading person in Solar Radio Group is Dr. S. Zieba (stanz@oa.uj.edu.pl) and all questions connected with the data should be addressed to him. These daily solar radio flux data are available on line at the web site http://www.oa.uj.edu.pl:80/sol/.
