LASCO Activity Report for
August 20, 2007 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

KEYHOLE OPERATIONS:
--------------------
2007/08/12 - 2007/09/10: 26 m keyhole
2007/08/18 - 2007/09/03: 34 m keyhole

- EIT/LASCO will be recorded for most of the keyhole period.
At this time, 2 outages are:
  08/20 17:35 - 08/21 23:05 UT (30 hrs)
  08/27 17:30 - 08/30 05:55 UT

- EIT will go to CCD bakeout between ~ :
  08/26 21:00 - 09/01 09:00 UT. Recovering at ~ 17:00 UT.

- SOHO Stationkeeping (SK) and Momentum Management (MM) on 08/30.
SOHO Roll to 0 deg on 08/31.
  LASCO safing for this period: 08/29 15:00 - 08/31 20:00 UT
(or possibly 09/01 15:00 UT -TBC-).

2007/08/17 (Friday)

00:54 UT N Pole	Faint jet-like front slightly toward NNW.

05:54 UT E Limb	Ragged front slightly toward ESE.

10:31 UT ES East	Ragged front that fades close to the inner edge of C3.

17:31 UT ES East	Ragged front with an elongated bright feature to N.
It fades thorughout C3, not far from its inner edge.

20:31 UT E Limb	Bright elongated feature (thin loop front) toward ESE.
			It fades thorughout C3.

23:54 UT E Limb	Bright feature with ragged loop front toward ESE. The
			event fades throughout C3.

2007/08/18 (Saturday)

02:54 UT E Limb	Bright feature (blob-like) and ragged loop front toward
ESE. The event fades throughout C3.

05:54 UT ES East	Superposed in the LOS with pseudo-continuous outflow,
a faint structure starts to be seen developing very
gradually (difficult to give an exact time of first
			appearance).

10:31 UT N East	Diffuse jet-like front.

11:06 UT SS West	Faint and diffuse jet-like front.

11:54 UT E Limb	Bright elongated fan-like front followed at 12:30 UT
by an elongated loop front. The former fades throughout
C3, while the latter apparently throughout C2.

14:06 UT N Pole Gradual development of system of wide and very faint
expanding fronts (difficult to give an exact time of
first appearance). WIDTH in C3 at 23:18 UT: ~ 100 deg.

2007/08/19 (Sunday)

03:30 UT N East	Following the event reported to start at 14:06 UT on
previos day, a faint and elongated loop front develops.
			WIDTH in C3 at 07:42 UT: ~ 60 deg.

10:54 UT EN East	Jet-like front.

2007/08/20 (Monday)

No significant activity.
