May 16, 2007 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2007/05/15 (Tuesday)

01:54 UT EN East	Thin ragged loop front. It fades throughout C3.

06:06 UT E Limb	Faint ragged front that fades very close to the inner
			edge of C3.

10:34 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front that also fades close to the inner
			edge of C3.

16:30 UT E Limb	Diffuse loop front practically no longer discernible
			in C3 (see next entry).

18:53 UT E Limb	Diffuse loop front develops as a very bright and wide
loop front practically all across the North-East
quadrant of the C2 FOV. There seems to be an extremely
faint and diffuse extension above the N Pole during
the early development of the event (only discernible
in C2). Twisted (bright) inner structure. Gusty outflow
			follows. There is a C3 data gap between 18:36 - 21:36
UT due to EIT Shutterless Run. Therefore, the event is
first seen in C3 at 21:36 UT. WIDTH in C3 at 01:42 UT
(next day): ~ 110 deg. GOES reported multiple B-class
activity all along the afternoon till at least the end
of the day on NOAA AR 10956 (around N00E50 by
			15:30 UT).

21:32 - 23:06 UT	LASCO Data Gap (C2 time) due to
				EIT Shutterles Run.

2007/05/16 (Wednesday)

	  E Limb	Gusty outflow.

02:30 UT E Limb	Ragged front in the trail of event reported to start
at 18:53 UT on previous day.

04:30 UT E Limb	Another ragged front (brighter than the previous one).

Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 12:54 UT.
