LASCO Activity Report for
February 20, 2007 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

KEYHOLE OPERATIONS:
------------------
* 2007/02/13 - 2007/03/12: 26 m Keyhole
* 2007/02/19 - 2007/03/06: 34 m Keyhole

* 2002/02/27: Spacecraft Maneuvers (Not roll)
* 2007/03/05: Spacecraft 180 Deg Roll

- 2007/02/13 - 2007/03/12: EIT CCD Bakeout (beginning 02/13 @ ~23:00 UT).

- LASCO in improved keyhole program starting on 2002/02/14:
  C2 @12 min cad, C3 @30 min cadence.

- LASCO will remain idle outside contacts between 2007/02/19 - 2007/03/03.

2007/02/16 (Friday)

02:24 UT ES East	Ragged front. It fades throughout C3, close to its
	 		inner edge.

19:00 UT W Limb	Slow development of an elongated and twisted structure.
			It fades throughout C3.
			WIDTH in C3 on 02/17 at 02:18 UT: ~ 25 deg.

20:57 UT N East	Slow development of a very faint loop front. It fades
			throughout C3.

2007/02/17 (Saturday)

03:36 UT N Pole	Diffuse jet-like front developing slightly toward NNW.

14:48 UT E Limb	Bright and wide loop front developing toward ENE. Faint
	ASSYMETRIC and diffuse extensions to S, up to past the S Pole.
	   HALO Gusty outflow follows on E, well into next day. By
	   		16:24 UT, the diffuse extensions fully surround
			the C2 occulting disk (signal on NW barely above
			the occulting disk). By that time, the LE of the event
 			on ENE is well past the outer edge of C2. The event
			is first seen in C3 at 15:18 UT, just appearing on NE.
			The C3 occulting disk appears fully surrounded by the
			extensions by ~ 18:42 UT (signal on NW barely above
			the occultor, LE on NE at ~ 18 solar radii). The
			mean plane-of-sky speed of the event at PA ~ 60 deg
			was 745 km/sec (based on C3 data). No X-ray events
			were reported by GOES during the day (X-ray activity
			below the A level). EIT on CCD bakeout, therefore no
			EIT images available.

18:00 UT E Limb	Ragged front in the trail of previous event.

2007/02/18 (Sunday)

	  E Limb	Gusty outflow.

20:36 UT N East	Ragged fronth that fades thorughout C3. Also a ragged
			front on E.

2007/02/19 (Monday)

	00:36 - 09:12 UT	LASCO Data Gap (C2 time).

	12:48 - 22:00 UT	LASCO Data Gap (C2 time).

22:12 UT E Limb	Trail of event that apparently started during previous
			data gap.

2007/02/20 (Tuesday)

	02:12 - 12:48 UT	LASCO Data Gap (C2 time).

Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 13:12 UT.
