LASCO Activity Report for
January 16, 2007 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

- Comet McNaught exits the C3 FOV (bottom left) late on 2007/01/15.

- Comet McNaught entering the C3 FOV (upper left) early on 2007/01/12,
  very bright!

2007/01/12 (Friday)

01:54 UT WN West	Initially bright ragged front. It fades throughout C3.
GOES reported a C1.5 X-ray flare on NOAA AR 10933
			(N01W90) between 01:18 - 01:49 UT with peak emission
			at 01:38 UT.

16:08 UT S Pole Diffuse jet-like front.

2007/01/13 (Saturday)

14:42 UT SS East	Diffuse jet-like front.

19:47 UT S Pole Very thin and elongated loop (jet-like) front. It
			quickly fades.

2007/01/14 (Sunday)

02:42 UT EN East	Ragged loop front. It apparently fades throughout C2.

12:42 UT EN East	Another ragged (and diffuse) loop front that fades
			throughout C2. Gusty outflow.

18:42 UT N Pole	Jet-like front.

2007/01/15 (Monday)

02:08 UT S Pole	jet-like front developing toward SSW.

10:08 UT N west	Elongated loop-like feature with a rather diffuse
upper front. A brighter and apparently distinct
structure follows by ~ 12:08 UT. By 14:08 UT, a faint
and expanding loop front can be discerned a little
bit to N. EIT 195 images show signatures of a faint
backsided CME developing toward W between 09:12 -
			10:12 UT.

21:08 UT S Pole	Difuse jet-like front.

2007/01/16 (Tuesday)

00:06 UT S East	Ragged loop front.

03:30 UT ES East	'Pair formation' well above the C2 occulting disk.
