LASCO Activity Report for
December 07, 2006 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
KEYHOLE (#15) Operations:
-------------------------
* 2006/11/24 - 2006/12/11: 26 m keyhole
* 2006/11/27 - 2006/12/08: 34 m keyhole
* SOHO Maneuvers on 2006/12/05 (Station Keeping, Momentum Management and Roll)
LASCO closed doors on 2006/12/04 at ~ 15:00 UT and resumed operations on
2006/12/06 at ~ 19:00 UT.
* 2006/11/25 - 2006/12/12: EIT Bakeout
* The TLM Keyhole #15 will have short daily passes and therefore limited
LASCO recorded data. Outside the periods of contact LASCO will go idle via
the on-board program.
* LASCO will observe in improved mode during TLM Keyhole #15 (C2 12 min
cadence, C3 30 min cadence with daily orange/blue pairs and pB if possible.)
2006/12/06 (Wednesday)
LASCO Doors closed because of SOHO Maneuvers on 2006/12/05.
It resumed observations at ~ 19:00 UT.
Only one C2 image taken after opening doors (at 20:12 UT).
Afterwards in DSN Telemetry Data Gap (20:15 - 24:00 UT)
NOTE:
-----
Multiple C-class X-ray activity. On top of that, GOES recorded:
i) an M6.0 X-ray flare on NOAA AR 10930(S02E65) between 08:02 - 09:03 UT
with peak emission at 08:23 UT.
ii) an X6.5 X-ray flare on NOAA AR 10930 (S05E64) between 18:29 - 19:00 UT
with peak emission at 18:47 UT.
2006/12/07 (Thursday)
00:00 - 08:20 UT Telemetry DSN Data Gap.
10:20 - 20:20 UT Telemetry DSN Data Gap.
