November 21, 2006 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
2006/11/20 (Monday)
00:54 UT S West Initially bright ragged front.
02:30 UT E Limb Ragged loop front with structured interior. Gusty
outflow.
04:06 - 06:30 UT LASCO Data Gap.
06:54 UT EN East Gradual development of a faint and rather 'circular'
structure. Difficult to give an exact time of first
appearance. The event is surpassed close to the inner
edge of the C# FOV by the following event.
06:54 UT WS West Faint and narrow fan-like front precedes a slightly
brighter narrow and ragged loop front (07:54 UT),
which fades close to the inner edge of the C3 FOV.
11:30 UT S West Bright and elongated ragged loop front. Faint ragged
extensions to N.
16:30 UT S West Ragged and elongated loop front. Diffuse and ragged
loop-like extensions spanning up to WNW follow.
18:06 UT E Limb Brightening just appearing develops as a big and bright
loop front followed by a structured and bright core.
EIT 195 images show signatures of a wide CME above
the E Limb between 17:36 - 18:48 UT, with origin in the
backside of the Sun.
18:30 UT W Limb Diffuse and ragged loop front.
19:31 UT S West Ragged and elongated loop front (smaller than previous
ones).
21:54 UT W Limb Faint ragged front.
2006/11/21 (Tuesday)
05:30 UT E Limb Big and bright loop front followed by a structured
and bright core. EIT 195 images show signatures of a
wide CME (fainter than the previous one) above the E
Limb between 05:00 - 06:48 UT, with origin in the
backside of the Sun.
Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 09:30 UT.
