LASCO Activity Report for
April 3, 2006 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
2006/03/31 (Friday)
00:26 UT W Limb Diffuse and elongated (not-well defined) front. It fades
throughout C3.
2006/04/01 (Saturday)
20:30 UT W Limb Diffuse brightening precedes the slow development of
a loop front followed by a twisted (rather 'circular')
core (typical gradual CME event). Loop front first
seen in C3 on next day at 06:18 UT.
22:30 UT N East Extremely faint and diffuse front that quickly fades
preceding the development of an asymmetric loop front
(see entry at 03:30 UT on next day).
2006/04/02 (Sunday)
03:30 UT N East Faint and diffuse asymmetric loop front followed by
an apparently different feature (much fainter and
diffuse) that extends up to past the N Pole during
its early development in C2. By 06:06 UT the signal
above the N Pole in C2 is no longer discernible. C3
shows a loop front developing toward NE, first clearly
seen at 05:18 UT followed by an expanding and very faint
front at 07:42 UT that appears above the NNE Limb and
quickly fades.
18:54 UT W Limb Small and bright front in the trailing material of the
event reported to start at 22:30 UT on previous day.
2006/04/03 (Monday)
00:30 UT E Limb Elongated and diffuse fan-like front.
08:30 UT E Limb Elongated and very ragged loop-like feature.
Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 12:06 UT.
