Points Of Interest
Venus entered the C3 FOV on 2006/01/09 @ ~ 09:42 UT from the left. It is
expected to be in the C3 FOV through Jan. 17.
2006/01/13 (Friday)
S Pole Some narrow ragged fronts (plus gusty outflow) during
the day, rotating toward SE as they appear. In
particular, fronts at 02:54, 08:30, and 14:30 UT.
00:54 UT W Limb Bright loop front with some very faint and diffuse
extensions to N, and a twisted --like circularly
structured-- interior. The event becomes visible in
C3 at 02:42 UT, appearing above the W Limb. Its angular
extent at ~ 07:42 UT is about 70 deg (from PA ~ 240 -
310). EIT 195 shows the lift-off of a filament located
at around S03W16 by ~ 23:48 UT on previous day).
17:54 UT ES East Elongated and narrow loop-like front. It fades
throughout C3.
23:54 UT N west Very faint loop front. Barely discernible in C3.
2006/01/14 (Saturday)
SS East Gusty outflow (rotating toward SE) continues until
around midday.
W Limb Gusty outflow all along the day.
00:06 UT EN East Elongated and relatively bright loop front.
2006/01/15 (Sunday)
05:30 UT WS West Elongated and very narrow front developing toward W.
It fades throughout C2.
05:30 UT ES East Couple of very faint blob-like fronts start to be
discernible. Theu both fade throughout C3.
16:30 UT EN East Elongated fan-like front.
18:54 - 22:35 UT Temporary Data Gap.
2006/01/16 (Monday)
11:36 UT E Limb Very faint elongated and slightly expanding loop front.
Extremely faint in C3, fading throughout its FOV.
Otherwise, mostly quiet.
2006/01/17 (Tuesday)
03:30 UT W Limb Diffuse brightening develops as an elongated and ragged
loop front.
05:54 UT S East loop front along the streamer.
Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 09:30 UT.
