LASCO Activity Report for
October 11, 2005 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
2005/10/07 (Friday)
N East Slow development of a system of loops along a narrow
streamer starting early on the day (though it is
difficult to give an exact time of first appearance).
06:26 UT N West Faint and narrow fan-like front. It fades throughout C2.
16:06 UT N East Gradual development of a faint loop along the streamer.
It seems to appear after a kind of reconection event
('pair formation' --> corresponding infalling material).
Couple more of similar events in the trailing material
of the event (i.e., at ~ 19:31 UT on the northern leg,
and at ~ 22:08 UT on the southern leg).
2005/10/08 (Saturday)
00:06 UT N East On the southern leg of event reported to start at 16:06
UT on previous day, a ragged ront becomes visible. It
fades throughout C3.
01:27 UT S Pole Diffuse and ragged front that fades close to the inner
edge of C3.
18:26 UT S East Diffuse and elongated curved feature.
22:06 UT WN West Ragged front along streamer that fades very close to
the inner edge of C3.
2005/10/09 (Sunday)
04:26 UT N East Faint blob-like front.
13:27 UT SS East Faint blob-like front.
15:50 UT E Limb Faint and ragged front. It fades throughout C3.
2005/10/10 (Monday)
09:06 UT ES East Very faint and diffuse spray-like front. It fades
throughout C2.
12:50 UT E Limb Very narrow loop-like front (jet-like). It fades close
to the inner edge of C3.
21:26 UT E Limb Faint ragged front.
2005/10/11 (Tuesday)
00:06 UT N Pole Very faint and diffuse jet-like front.
Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 05:26 UT.
