LASCO Activity Report for
April 1, 2005 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

- EIT CCD Bakeout: 2005/03/11 (Friday) - 2005/03/31 (Thursday).
EIT bakeout ended as scheduled on 03/31/2005 @ 10:00 UT. The instrument
cooled down and the post bake mini-cals were taken 18:30-20:00 UT.
  Imaging resumed @ 20:45 UT: 195 CME watch at half-res (512x512).

- Venus entered the C2 FOV from the right on 2005/03/24
  (by around 16:00 UT).

- 34 m Telemetry Keyhole began on 2005/03/10 (until 03/24). Finished.
- 26 m Telemetry Keyhole began on 2005/03/02 (until 04/01).

- During the keyhole LASCO will image at an improved cadence of C2 @ 12
minutes and C3 @30 minute cadences. This includes daily orange filter pB
sequence and flat field orange/blue images. Using the keyhole recording
scheme most all LASCO data will be recovered.

- On 2005/03/11 @ 15:00 UT (Friday) SOHO changed to Submode 5.

- Venus entered the C3 FOV from the right on 2005/02/26
(by the end of the day). Still visible, by the time just below the C3
  occulting disk.

2005/03/31 (Thursday)

02:36 UT EN East	Small front starts to be discernible at ~ 3.16 solar
radii (PA ~73). By 03:36 UT, on ESE, a very faint
and diffuse front that quickly fades develops.

05:36 UT EN East	Very faint ragged front that fades throughout C2.

2005/04/01 (Friday)

	Mostly quiet.

Last C2 image analyzed taken @ 12:50 UT.
