LASCO Activity Report for
November 30, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
SOHO Telemetry Submode change to Submode 6 at 14:00 UT on 2004/11/30
(EIT Shutterless Campaign between 17:00 - 19:40 UT). It will be back
to Submode 5 on 2004/12/01 at 19:00 UT.
SOHO is in Telemetry Submode 5 since 2004/11/08 @ 22:15 UT. While in
Submode 5, half resolution EIT 195 CME watch (512x512).
2004/11/29 (Monday)
01:27 UT E Limb Initially bright front that fades throughout C2. Faint
diffuse extensions to N. Another very faint expanding
front follows developing toward NE (~ 03:26 UT).
06:26 UT E Limb Another initially bright front followed at 08:06 UT
on ENE-NE by an asymmetric and structured expanding
loop-like feature. By 08:26 UT a bright narrow feature
accompany its development to N. And by 12:50 UT (though
difficult to give an exact time) a faint and narrow
loop front can be discerned already at around 1.5 solar
radii.
17:50 UT N East Very narrow and elongated loop-like feature (jet-like)
that fades close to the inner edge of C3.
2004/11/30 (Tuesday)
07:27 UT N East Bright ragged loop front. By 07:50 UT, a narrow and
asymmetric ragged feature can be discerned on ENE (at
roughly the PA of the southern leg of the big loop
front). GOES reported a C5.0 X-ray flare from NOAA AR
10708 (N10E32) between 06:25 - 07:25 UT with peak
emission at 06:57 UT.
