LASCO Activity Report for
November 24, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO is in Telemetry Submode 5 since 2004/11/08 @ 22:15 UT. While in Submode 5,
half resolution EIT 195 CME watch (512x512).

2004/11/23 (Tuesday)

02:06 UT N Pole	Faint expanding loop front becomes discernible. It fades
throughout C3. It is preceded by a very faint system of
expanding and loops since afternoon on previous day.

03:50 UT E Limb	Elongated and narrow loop front that fades very close
to the inner edge of C3. Infalling material to N,
already since early in the day, all along the day.

09:26 UT E Limb	Extremely faint and diffuse front that quickly fades.

12:06 UT E Limb	Blob-like front becomes discernible in the gusty outflow.

	14:06 - 17:50 UT	LASCO Data Gap.

18:06 UT NN West	Couple of very faint loop fronts already under
development after data gap. Some others follow, also
			into next day.

2004/11/24 (Wednesday)

03:26 UT S East	Kind of 'reconexion' event (blob-like front going out
and another one falling down). Difficult to give an
exact starting time. Separation point: ~ 4 solar radii
at PA ~ 110 deg. More infalling material to N.

03:50 UT N West	Faint loop front developing toward WNW. It fades
throughout C2. An elongated and narrow feature
develops by the time at roughly the PA of the northern
leg of the loop front. This feature can be followed
in C3 only close to the inner edge.

04:26 UT S West	Faint elongated and expanding loop-like feature
developing slowly. Difficult to give an exact time
			of first appearance.

08:26 UT E Limb	Diffuse ragged loop front that fades throughout C2. It
seems to be preceded at 07:27 UT by a a very diffuse and
narrower front right above the E Limb. Couple of
slightly brighter fronts follow (also narrower than
the first one mentioned) starting at 09:50 and 12:06 UT.
