LASCO Activity Report for
November 22, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO is in Telemetry Submode 5 since 2004/11/08 @ 22:15 UT. While in Submode 5,
half resolution EIT 195 CME watch (512x512).

2004/11/19 (Friday)

N East	Gusty outflow in the form of small blobs along the
			streamer, all along the day.

05:50 UT W Limb	Elongated and ragged loop-like structure developing
slightly toward WSW. It is preceded at 03:06 UT by a
small and narrow front that quickly fades. Slow
development of an apparently twisted and faint structure
			to S.

16:26 UT S West	Small and diffuse front that quickly fades.

20:26 UT S West	Faint and diffuse front followed at around 23:06 UT
on WSW by an expanding ragged loop front. A narrow and
structured feature seems to develop at roughly the PA
of the northern leg of the expanding loop front (above
the W Limb). By that time and superposed in the LOS, a
rather circular twisted structure starts developing
very slowly on SW (it is first clearly seen in C3 at
~ 16:42 UT on the following day, after the data gap).

2004/11/20 (Saturday)

06:26 UT S East	Extremely faint loop front that quickly fades.

09:06 UT N West	Diffuse jet-like front.

	10:06 - 16:26 UT	Temporary Data Gap.

18:26 UT E Limb	Bright loop front with fainter extensions to N and S.

2004/11/21 (Sunday)

00:06 UT N East	Very faint expanding loop front followed at ~ 07:27 UT
by a well defined 'pair formation' event (separation
point at ~ 3 solar radii -PA ~ 30 deg- ). By around
10:06 UT, some other very faint fronts. They al fade
			throughout C3.

13:50 UT E Limb	Faint ragged and small front that fades close to the
			inner edge of C3.

15:26 UT N West	Jet-like front.

18:06 UT E Limb	Narrow ragged loop front that fades close to the inner
			edge of C3.

22:26 UT E Limb	Another narrow ragged loop front that also fades close
to the inner edge of C3 (same PA as previous event).

23:26 UT S West	Blob-like front develops along the streamer, followed
by a couple of smaller fronts. Infalling material
			afterward.

2004/11/22 (Monday)

06:50 UT E Limb	Bright loop front preceded by a diffuse brightening
starting at about 05:26 UT. Structured inner part.
By 10:26 UT a narrow loop-like feature seems to develop.
