LASCO Activity Report for
October 18, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/10/15 (Friday)

00:30 UT N East Narrow and faint loop front. It fades close to the
inner edge of C3.

03:06 UT W Limb Small and diffuse loop front that quickly fades.

03:54 UT SS West Relatively thick jet-like front that fades throughout C2.

06:54 UT N West Fan-like front. It fades close to the inner edge of C3.

07:54 UT ES East Ragged loop front with a ragged inner structure. It
fades throughout C3.

15:54 UT W Limb Diffuse and ragged loop front that fades close to the
inner edge of C3.

2004/10/16 (Saturday)

00:06 UT NN East	Very slow development of a diffuse expanding loop front
followed by a system of faint expanding loops that span
later all above the N Pole. It is difficult to give an
exact time of first appearance. The diffuse front seems
to have started late on previous day.

00:06 UT N West Very slow development of a system of loops along the
streamer.

15:54 UT W Limb Ragged loop front partly superposed in the LOS with
event at 00:06 UT on NW. By 19:54 UT, a not well defined
faint front develops much faster than the slow system
of loops apparently affecting its development. By ~
06:06 UT on next day an apparent (not well discerned)
front seems to strongly affect its expansion rate.

21:30 UT N East Elongated loop front moving faster than the event
reported to start at 00:06 UT.

2004/10/17 (Sunday)

09:54 UT ES East Gusty outflow in the form of small ragged fronts.

19:31 UT NN West Diffuse and narrow fan-like front that fades throughout
C2.

21:30 UT E Limb Wide ragged loop front.
