LASCO Activity Report for
September 17, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
Upcomig Operations:
2004/09/21 (Tuesday): Spacecraft Maneuvers and 180 deg roll. Therefore:
- LASCO will close doors on 2004/09/20 @ 14:00 UT.
- CME watch will resume on 2004/09/22 @ ~22:00 UT
SOHO entered the Telemetry keyhole on 2004/09/11. It will last until
2004/10/06.
LASCO is loaded with the 2 hr cadence in C2 and C3 pB orange filter binned
full field (FOV) LEB summed. This will be part of the CME Watch in LASCO
pB program to run the duration of this keyhole. This kicked off 9/10
22:30 UT and continues through 10/3 12:00 UT.
EIT 195 CME was interrupted on 2004/09/10 (Friday) at 20:00 UT for EIT CCD
bakeout calibrations. EIT CCD bakeout between 2004/09/10 @ 22:00 UT -
2004/10/03 (Sunday) @ ~22:00 UT.
2004/09/16 (Thursday)
03:12 UT SS East Extremely faint ragged front. It fades throughout C3.
03:36 UT N East Faint elongated expanding loop front that fades
throughout C3.
10:12 - 13:24 UT Temporary Data Gap.
13:36 UT S East Slow expansion of a system of loop already under
development after data gap. At 15:36 UT a faint and
diffuse loop front seems to develop superposed in the
LOS, apparently moving faster. Another one at 21:24 UT.
Continuos development of faint expanding loop fronts
into next day.
16:12 UT N East Fan-like front.
16:54 - 20:12 UT Temporary Data Gap.
2004/09/17 (Friday)
07:05 - 13:00 UT Temporary DSN Data Gap.
17:10 - 20:45 UT Temporary DSN Data Gap
