LASCO Activity Report for
September 16, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
SOHO entered the Telemetry keyhole on 2004/09/11. It will last until
2004/10/06.
LASCO is loaded with the 2 hr cadence in C2 and C3 pB orange filter binned
full field (FOV) LEB summed. This will be part of the CME Watch in LASCO
pB program to run the duration of this keyhole. This kicked off 9/10
22:30 UT and continues through 10/3 12:00 UT.
EIT 195 CME was interrupted on 2004/09/10 (Friday) at 20:00 UT for EIT CCD
bakeout calibrations. EIT CCD bakeout between 2004/09/10 @ 22:00 UT -
2004/10/03 (Sunday) @ ~22:00 UT.
2004/09/15 (Wednesday)
01:36 UT S East Ragged and not well defined faint loop front that fades
throughout C3.
02:12 UT E Limb Very faint loop front. It fades throughout C2.
08:12 UT E Limb Another very faint loop front slowly developing.
09:12 UT S East Faint and elongated diffuse loop front. It fades
throughout C3. It is followed at 19:12 UT by a
ragged asymmetric front.
14:12 UT WN West Ragged front that quickly fades.
19:36 UT W Limb Diffuse loop front that quickly fades followed at
20:57 UT by a another one that also quickly fades.
2004/09/16 (Thursday)
03:12 UT SS East Extremely faint ragged front.
03:36 UT N East Faint elongated expanding loop front.
10:12 - 13:24 UT Temporary DSN Data Gap
