LASCO Activity Report for
September 14, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO entered the Telemetry keyhole on 2004/09/11. It will last until
2004/10/06.

LASCO is loaded with the 2 hr cadence in C2 and C3 pB orange filter binned
full field (FOV) LEB summed. This will be part of the CME Watch in LASCO
pB program to run the duration of this keyhole. This kicked off 9/10
22:30 UT and continues through 10/3 12:00 UT.

EIT 195 CME was interrupted on 2004/09/10 (Friday) at 20:00 UT for EIT CCD
bakeout calibrations. EIT CCD bakeout between 2004/09/10 @ 22:00 UT -
2004/10/03 (Sunday) @ ~22:00 UT.

2004/09/13 (Monday)

02:48 UT N East	Ragged expanding front. It fades throughout C3.

07:36 UT ES East	Slow development of a ragged system of loops. Difficult
to give an exact time of first appearance. After
the data gap, a trailing twisted structure is seen
under development. GOES recorded a C1.4 X-ray flare
			from NOAA AR 10672 (N03E31) between 13:34 - 13:42 UT
with peak emission at 13:39 UT.

	11:12 - 18:24 UT	Temporary Data Gap.

20:26 UT W Limb	Ragged loop front followed at 22:24 and 23:12 by a
couple of faint ragged fronts. They seem to fade
throughout C2. A curved feature expands just to N of
the first front. Proton storm. GOES recorded another
			C1.4 X-ray flare from NOAA AR 10672 (N07E26) between
20:07 - 20:14 UT with peak emission at 20:11 UT.

2004/09/14 (Tuesday)

	00:54 - 04:12 UT	Temporary Data Gap.

04:24 UT S East	Ragged loop front already under development after data
gap. Another fainter one a little bit to N almost
exiting the C2 FOV. An apparently twisted feature
with an initially bright top follows.

08:24 UT W Limb	Faint and not well defined loop front.

09:30 - 17:10 UT	Temporary DSN Data Gap.
