LASCO Activity Report for
September 10, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO will enter the Telemetry keyhole on 2004/09/11.

EIT 195 CME watch will be interrupted on 2004/06/10 (Friday) at about 19:30 UT
for EIT CCD bakeout calibrations. EIT CCD bakeout until 2004/10/03 (Sunday).

2004/09/09 (Thursday)

01:54 UT E Limb	Narrow and asymmetric expanding loop front.

02:54 UT S West	Faint elongated and ragged loop front. It fades
throughout C3. Infalling material to N.

06:06 UT E Limb	Bright and wide loop front, cavity and inner core.
Trailing material. Some small ragged fronts in the
			trailing material, e.g. at 14:06, 15:54, 19:31, 20:06,
and 21:30 UT. The loop front is preceded by a narrow
and asymmetric front at around 05:06 UT. EIT Fe XII
running difference images show signatures of a CME,
barely backsided, above the E Limb starting at ~ 04:48
UT. Post event loops can be seen afterward developing
just above the E Limb. GOES recorded a C3.2 X-ray flare
			from NOAA AR 10672 (E Limb) between 04:50 - 06:40 UT
with peak emission at 06:01 UT.

09:30 UT W Limb	Slow development of a faint system of asymmetric loop
fronts. Difficult to give an exact time of first
			appearance.

14:06 UT WS West	Elongated and asymmetric loop front at roughly the
southern leg (on the inner side) of event reported to
start at 09:30 UT, moving apparently faster. It
			develops mainly toward W.

14:30 UT WN West	Elongated loop front at roughly the northern leg (on
the inner side) of event reported to start at 09:30 UT.

18:06 UT WS West	Faint asymmetric loop front. GOES recorded a B9.3 X-ray
			flare form NOAA AR 10671 (S11W68) between 17:55 - 18:13
UT with peak emission at 18:00 UT.

2004/09/10 (Friday)

00:30 UT E Limb	Faint, ragged, and not weel defined front. GOES recorded
			a C1.0 X ray flare from NOAA AR 10672 between 21:59 -
22:26 UT with peak emission at 22:16 UT (on 2004/09/09).

04:06 - Present (~13:15 UT) Temporary Data Gap.
