LASCO Activity Report for
August 26, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/08/25 (Wednesday)

03:30 UT N West	An extremely faint ragged loop front becomes discernible.
Difficult to give an exact time of first appearance.

12:54 UT ES East	Very slow development of a very faint loop front that
extends later all over the S Pole, though fainter there.
By 07:42 UT on next day is practically no longer
visible, without having reached the end of C3 FOV (~ 18
solar radii at PA ~ 110). On the other hand, by 17:55 UT
a faint ragged and elongated loop front can be guessed
above the E Limb on C2, followed by the development of a
system of faint and wide loop fronts that seems to
affect the development of the front previously mentioned.
EIT Fe XII images do not show any visible signature
associated to the events on the disk.

14:54 UT WS west	Very faint elongated loop front that fades throughout C2.

15:30 UT WS West	Small ragged fronts that quickly fade, to N of previous
			event.

18:28 UT WS West Bright and elongated loop front that fades in C3.

	19:00 - 21:40 UT	EIT Shutterless Run #16 (Only 1 C2 image/hour)

2004/08/26 (Thursday)

00:54 UT W Limb	Faint loop front that quickly fades.

01:54 UT S West	Slow development of a system of faint loops.

09:30 UT W Limb	Diffuse jet-like front developing slightly toward WSW.
