LASCO Activity Report for
August 25, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/08/24 (Tuesday)

02:30 UT N East	Faint elongated loop front followed at 04:30, a little
bit to N, by a similar one. They both fade close to
			the inner edge of C3.

13:54 UT E Limb	Bright ragged loop front with faint extensions to N.
Twisted trailing material. At 16:54 UT, a fainter ragged
front becomes discernible in the trailing material. By
the time, and a little bit to N of it, a small front
develops. By 18:06 UT, a kind of reconexion event occurs
at about 2.8 solar radii (PA ~ 80), apparently involving
the small front: material is seen faliing down.

15:30 UT S West	Very faint spray-like front, followed by another one,
a little bit to N. at 16:54 UT.

21:30 UT W Limb	Very faint and diffuse front precedes a brighter small
ragged front at 21:54 UT and a ragged loop front at
22:06 UT. The diffuse front can be seen to extend up
to the S Pole during the development of the event. The
			whole event fades throughout C3.

2004/08/25 (Wednesday)

03:30 UT N West	An extremely faint ragged loop front becomes discernible.
Difficult to give an exact time of first appearance.
