LASCO Activity Report for
July 12, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SATURN exited the C2 FOV on 2004/07/10 (Saturday) at ~ 20:30 UT (right).

SATURN reappeared in the C3 FOV on 2004/07/10 (Saturday) at ~ 05:42 UT.

SATURN reappeared in the C2 FOV on 2004/07/09 (Friday) at ~ 10:06 UT.

SATURN entered the C2 FOV (from the left) on 2004/07/06 (Tuesday)
at around 17:00 UT. Since ~ 04:30 UT on 2004/07/08 (Thursday), it
is behind the C2 occultor.

2004/07/09 (Friday)

00:30 UT EN East	Bright loop front, cavity, and twisted inner core and
trailing material. Due to its superposition in the LOS
with event reported to start at 20:30 UT on previous
day it is difficult to give an exact time of first
appearance. Gusty outflow to NW well into next day.
Infalling material by 19:31 UT on E.

02:30 UT S West	Another extrelemely faint loop front, a little bit
asymmetric this time. By 05:30 UT another one (narrower
than the one at 21:33 UT on previous day) develops,
apparently moving faster. They fade throughout C3.

06:06 UT W Limb	Ragged and 'thick' loop front. Kind of 'jet' developing
in parallel toward WNW. They fade throughout C3.

17:54 UT WS West	Faint and ragged loop front that fades close to the
inner edge of C3. Another one at ~ 22:06 UT, and also at
			~00:54 UT on next day.

2004/07/10 (Saturday)

00:54 UT E Limb	Ragged and diffuse loop front.

06:30 UT ES East	Jet-like front.

	06:54 - 15:30 UT	Data Gap.

15:30 UT E Limb	Several infalling blobs under development after data
			gap.

15:30 UT W Limb	Big ragged loop front already under development after
data gap. Apparently twisted trailing material.

16:30 UT WS West	Faint and ragged asymmetric loop front developing
slightly toward S of previous event. It fades
			throughout C3.

2004/07/11 (Sunday)

01:54 UT WS West	Narrow and faint ragged loop front developing toward W.
It fades close to the inner edge of C3.

02:30 UT N Pole	Jet-like front that quickly fades, developing slightly
			toward NNW.

03:54 UT N East	In the gusty outflow, slow development of a faint
'V-shaped' feature. It fades throughout C3.

10:34 UT N Pole	Fairly faint and ragged asymmetric loop front. It fades
			throughout C3.

14:06 UT S East	Small front along streamer.

14:30 UT NN East	Diffuse ragged front. Development missed because of data
			gap.

	16:06 - 23:30 UT	Data Gap.

2004/07/12 (Monday)

05:06 UT W Limb	Loop front. Faint extensions to N.

08:06 UT E Limb	Wide and bright loop front with twisted inner core.
Starting at ~07:36 UT EIT Fe XII show signatures of a
huge limb event, originated barely behind the disk.
