LASCO Activity Report for
July 09, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SATURN entered the C2 FOV (from the left) on 2004/07/06 (Tuesday)
at around 17:00 UT. Since ~ 04:30 UT on 2004/07/08 (Thursday), it
is behind the C2 occultor.

2004/07/08 (Thursday)

N East	In the gusty outflow some ragged blob-like fronts.

03:30 UT NN East	Extremely faint asymmetric loop front that fades
			throughout C3.

15:54 UT ES East	Faint ragged loop front that fades throughout C3.

20:30 UT EN East	Ragged and elongated loop front. It fades close to
the outer edge of C3 FOV.

21:33 UT S West	Extremely faint loop front. Barely visible in C3.

2004/07/09 (Friday)

00:30 UT EN East	Bright loop front, cavity, and twisted inner core and
trailing material. Due to its superposition in the LOS
with event reported to start at 20:30 UT on previous
day it is difficult to give an exact time of first
			appearance.

02:30 UT S West	Another extrelemely faint loop front, a little bit
asymmetric this time. By 05:30 UT another one (narrower
than the one at 21:33 UT on previous day) develops,
			apparently moving faster.

06:06 UT W Limb	Ragged and 'thick' loop front. Kind of 'jet' developing
			in parallel toward WNW.
