LASCO Activity Report for
July 08, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SATURN entered the C2 FOV (from the left) on 2004/07/06 (Tuesday)
at around 17:00 UT. Since ~ 04:30 UT on 2004/07/08 (Thursday), it
is behind the C2 occultor.

2004/07/07 (Wednesday)

	  HALO aftermath

00:30 UT N East	In the gusty outflow at NE left after the HALO event,
a ragged loop front with apparently twisted inner
structure develops. Faint extensions toward N and
later to S (~ 02:06 UT), the latter much fainter. It
			fades throughout C3.

01:31 UT S East	Ragged loop front. It fades throughout C3. By 04:06 UT
expansion of features toward the S Pole. It could be
related to the faint extensions to S mentioned in
previous event, though it is difficult to establish
their relation if any at all.

12:54 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front that quickly fades.

16:06 UT WN West	System of loop fronts with apparently twisted core/
			trailing material.

18:30 UT N East	Elongated ragged loop front. By ~ 22:30 UT a diffuse
and ragged front develops within the trailing material.
Gusty outflow and some ragged blob-like fronts into
			next day.

18:30 UT EN East	Ragged loop front evolving apparently jointly with
the elongated loop front in previous event (though
			apparently a little bit slower).

18:30 UT S West	Initially ragged and rather undefined small front
			develops as a blob-like front.

2004/07/08 (Thursday)

N East	In the gusty outflow some ragged blob-like fronts.

03:30 UT NN East	Extremely faint asymmetric loop front.
