LASCO Activity Report for
June 02, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
SOHO Telemetry Submode change to Submode 6 today at 14:00 UT for EIT
Shutterless Campaign (20:00 - 22:40 UT). Submode change to Submode 5
will be at 02:00 UT on Thursday 3.
SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512)
during that period.
2004/06/01 (Tuesday)
10:26 UT W Limb Bright loop front and cavity with faint extensions to N.
It is preceded by several narrow fronts (jet-like)
starting at 04:50 UT moving slightly toward WSW.
17:26 UT N West Elongated ragged loop front in the trailing material of
the event reported to start at 10:26 UT at the PA of
the leg on NW Limb.
18:50 UT WS West Bright ragged asymmetric loop front moving toward W in
the trailing material of the event reported to start at
10:26 UT at roughly the PA of the leg on WSW Limb.
Apparently twisted trailing material. It is preceded at
17:26 UT by a jet-like front, and followed at 22:06 UT
by another elongated ragged front.
22:26 UT N Pole Fairly faint elongated loop front (difficult to give
an exact time of first appearance). It is followed by
several faint ragged fronts during the first half of
next day. They all fade throughout C3.
2004/06/02 (Wednesday)
05:50 UT WS West Faint ragged front that fades close to the inner edge
of C3.
10:50 UT WS West Faint ragged front accompanied by a jet-like front.
