LASCO Activity Report for
June 01, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512)
during that period.

2004/05/28 (Friday)

03:26 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front with apparently twisted trailing
material developing toward ESE. It fades throughout C3.

04:50 UT W Limb	Bright ragged 'balloon-like' front with apparently
very faint extensions to N and S, the latter superposed
in the LOS with event reported to start at 18:50 UT
			on previous day.

11:06 UT S East	Diffuse loop front with apparently twisted inner part.

15:26 UT N West	Small ragged front that fades close to the inner edge
			of C2. Gusty outflow.

18:26 UT W Limb	Elongated loop front, apparently superposed in the LOS
with the trailing part of the slow event reported to
start at 18:50 UT on previous day. It is followe at
~ 20:50 UT by another loop front.

18:26 UT N East	Ragged asymmetric front. Barely visible in C3.

2004/05/29 (Saturday)

01:27 UT S West	Big ragged loop front. It fades throughout C3.

01:50 UT W Limb	Loop front. By 02:50 UT, a brighter narrow front
followed by gusty outflow right on W, at roughly the
southern leg of the loop front. Some 'reconexion'
events later, with infalling material in the gusty
			outflow.

09:06 UT N East	Narrow asymmetric loop front, brighter to S.

15:50 UT WS West	Narrow spray-like front.

21:26 UT S West	Extremely faint loop front. Difficult to give an exact
time of first appearance due to its faintness. It fades
			throughout C3.

2004/05/30 (Sunday)

05:26 UR N West	Small ragged front along streamer. It can be discerned
starting at ~ 4 solar radii.

15:26 UT N West	Narrow ragged loop front that fades throughout C3.
Gusty outflow. By 20:50 UT, infalling material to S
			(PA ~ 290) starting at ~ 3.75 solar radii.

17:26 UT S Pole	Very narrow spray front that fades throughout C2.

21:50 UT E Limb	Faint and diffuse elongated loop front moving slightly
toward ENE. It fades close to the inner edge of C3.

2004/05/31 (Monday)

00:50 UT WS West	Faint and diffuse loop front that quickly fades (C2),
followed at 05:26 by a similar event.

04:26 UT N West	Very narrow spray like front that fades close to the
inner edge of C3. By 10:50 UT, expanding feature
			without a very clear front.

10:50 UT WS West	Faint and diffuse loop front, though wider than events
reported to start at 00:50 UT.

20:26 UT E Limb	Diffuse loop front that quickly fades (C2).

20:50 UT WS West	Ragged and diffuse front that fades close to the inner
			edge of C3.

2004/06/01 (Tuesday)

10:26 UT W Limb	Bright loop front and cavity with faint extensions to N.
It is preceded by several narrow fronts (jet-like)
starting at 04:50 UT moving slightly toward WSW.

11:15 - 13:45 UT Temporary DSN Data Gap.
