LASCO Activity Report for
May 28, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512)
during that period.

2004/05/27 (Thursday)

01:50 UT N West	In the trailing material of event reported to start at
15:26 UT on previous day (see entry at 00:06 UT),
structured feature and trailing material. Kind of
'reconexion' event by ~ 08:27 UT: Infalling material
starting at ~ 3.7 solar radii (PA 303). Gusty outflow
with several other 'reconexion' events all along the
			day.

18:50 UT WS West	Very slow development of a structured (twisted?)
feature. It is difficult to give an exact time of first
appearance due to the so slow evolution and faintness.

21:26 UT S West	Ragged and diffuse elongated loop front with an
			elongated 'spray-like' inner part.

2004/05/28 (Friday)

03:50 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front with apparently twisted trailing
			material developing toward ESE.

04:50 UT W Limb	Bright ragged 'balloon-like' front with apparently
very faint extensions to N and S, the latter superposed
in the LOS with event reported to start at 18:50 UT
			on previous day.

11:06 UT S East	Diffuse loop front.

14:35 - 19:30 UT	Temporary DSN Data Gap.
