LASCO Activity Report for
May 13, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512)
during that period.

2004/05/12 (Wednesday)

00:06 UT W Limb	Bright spray-like front brighter to S. It fades
throughout C3. It is followed by a couple of fainter
			fan/spray-like fronts at: 02:26, 04:06, 05:26 UT.

06:26 UT ES East	Very narrow ragged front. It fades throughout C2.

16:26 UT E Limb	Diffuse front preceding a brighter structure at
~17:50 UT. Apparently twisted structure. It fades
			throughout C3.

21:26 UT S West	Blob-like front starting at around 3.5 solar radii.
Difficult to give an exact time of first appearance.
			It fades throughout C3.

2004/05/13 (Thursday)

02:06 UT W Limb	Faint elongated and diffuse front that fades throughout
			C2.

02:26 UT ES East	Very narrow ragged front that fades throughout C2.

05:50 UT E Limb	Bright loop front preceded by a faint and diffuse front.
It is followed by another loop structure and twisted
trailing material. Faint signature of material being
			swept away to N.

13:55 - 18:20 UT	Temporary DSN Data Gap.
