LASCO Activity Report for
May 06, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512)
during that period.

2004/05/05 (Wednesday)

00:50 UT N West	Ragged front that fades in C2. Infalling material on
			the West Limb.

04:26 UT E Limb	Faint ragged front developing slightly toward NE. It
			fades throughout C2.

10:50 UT E Limb	Faint ragged and diffuse front that fades close to the
			inner edge of C3 FOV.

	16:00 - 17:30 UT	Data Gap: ICAL01 (Intercalibration EIT/CDS)

20:26 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front with apparently twisted trailing
			material developing toward SE.

2004/05/06 (Thursday)

02:50 UT N West	Ragged front that quickly fades. Event signature in
EIT Fe XII running difference images starting at
02:12 UT right on the NW limb. Material moving all
			along a rising loop.

08:26 UT N West	Another ragged front preceding another similar one at
			11:26 UT slightly to N.

05:50 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front that fades throughout C2. Backsided
CME seen on E Limb in EIT Fe XII starting at 04:48 UT.

10:50 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front developing slightly toward SE.
Backsided CME (fainter than the previous one) seen
in EIT Fe XII at ~ 10:14 UT to S of previous event.
