LASCO Activity Report for
May 05, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512)
during that period.

2004/05/04 (Tuesday)

06:26 UT N East	'V-shaped' feature. Difficult to give exact time of
formation. Very faint ragged front to S moving slightly
			faster. They fade throughout C3.

11:26 UT N East	Another 'V-shaped' feature (though more elongated)
slightly to N of previous event. It fades in C3.

13:27 UT S West	Faint ragged front. It fades throughout C3. Small ragged
fronts (blob-like) follow starting at ~ the end of the
			day and on next day.

17:50 UT E Limb	Ragged loop front developing slightly toward SE. It
			fades throughout C3.

23:26 UT SS East	Faint and diffuse loop front that fades close to the
			inner edge of C3.

23:50 UT N East	Another 'V-shaped' feature.

2004/05/05 (Wednesday)

00:50 UT N West	Ragged front that fades in C2. Infalling material on
			the West Limb.

04:26 UT E Limb	Faint ragged front developing slightly toward NE. It
			fades throughout C2.
