LASCO Activity Report for
April 27, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512).

2004/04/26 (Monday)

LASCO doors closed. No observations today.

2004/04/27 (Tuesday)

07:13 UT EIT Fe XII Time. EIT Fe XII images show a brightening on NOAA
AR 0599 at 07:13 UT (located by the time around N17E05)
surrounded afterward by a strong dimming, likely signature of
a CME. An intensity disturbance is seen to travel across the
disk as the event develops. The event was associated with a
C3.1 X-ray flare that GOES records from NOAA AR 0599 between
07:08 - 07:37 UT with peak emission at 07:23 UT.

LASCO doors closed. No observations today.
