LASCO Activity Report for
April 19, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

Comet C/2004 F4 (Bradfield) is visible in the C3 field of view.
A special observing campaign is in progress (2004/04/16 - 2004/04/19).
Synoptic observations will be modified during this period.

SOHO Telemetry Submode changed to Submode 5 on 2004/04/13 at 16:00 UT
(SUMER began observing on 2004/04/14). SUMER campaign runs until 2004/06/17.
In other words, LASCO synoptic observation plan cadence remains the same
but the EIT CME watch images will be reduced to half-resolution (512x512).

2004/04/16

17:08 UT S West	Spray-like front that fades close to the inner edge of
			C3.

20:08 UT E Limb	Apparently twisted structure limited to N by a bright
feature that first appears at ~18:42 UT. It is followed
at 23:08 UT by a slightly brighter front and also
trailing twisted structure. The bright limiting feature
to N is pushed toward N as the event develops.

2004/04/17

	05:08 - 20:54 UT	Data Gap.

2004/04/18

N East	Gusty outflow all along the day.

00:42 Ut N West	Ragged asymmetric loop front. It fades throughout C2.

04:42 UT E Limb	Spray like front preceding twisted structure. They fade
			throughout C3.

14:08 UT W Limb	Faint ragged spray front developing slightly toward N.
Difficult to give an exact time of first appearance. It
is followed at 16:42 by a fairly faint and diffuse front
to S. To SW a very faint loop front develops.

2004/04/19

02:08 UT W Limb	Ragged assymetric front developing slightly toward NW
followed at ~04:42 by another one. By 05:42 UT infalling
			material on SW.
