LASCO Activity Report for
March 15, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/03/12

S East	Gusty outflow all along the day.

00:30 UT N East	Developing of an asymmetric loop front. Small ragged
			fronts during the day.

00:30 UT N West	Extremely faint diffuse front moving faster that a
bright ragged front following at ~ 01:31 UT. Due to
the superposition of both events on the line of sight,
it is difficult to give an accurate time of first
appearance for the second event. EIT HE II images show
the eruption of a a huge prominence coming out from
behind the NW limb (first seen at 19:19 UT on previous
day, next image at 01:19 UT). Huge twisted structure
			follows.

05:30 UT N East Faint ragged loop front at PA of the southern leg of
the asymmetric loop front reported to start at 00:30 UT.

08:30 UT N East	Blob-like front at PA of the event reported to start
			at 00:30 UT.

16:54 UT W Limb	Faint ragged loop front developing towards NW.	At
~20:06 UT follows blob-like front slightly to N,
starting at roughly 4 solar radii.

2004/03/13

S East Gusty outflow all along the day.

08:06 UT S West	Extremely faint ragged loop front. It fades in C2.

2004/03/14

02:06 UT W Limb	Extremely faint and small blob-like front going outward
and small feature falling down. Starting point at
~ 4.30 solar radii (PA ~ 263 deg). It is followed at
~ 09:06 by an extremely faint ragged front.

03:54 UT N East Couple of very faint ragged loop fronts, one developing
			more toward N.

07:31 UT N Pole	Jet-like front that quickly fades.

13:31 UT S West	Narrow and diffuse front preceding asymmetric loop
			front at ~ 15:30 UT.

2004/03/15

09:30 UT N West	Ragged front.

12:55 - 21:30 UT	Temporary DSN Data Gap.
