LASCO Activity Report for
March 05, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
2004/03/04
02:06 UT S East Very faint loop front. Structure to N 'pushed' aside
during development.
12:06 UT S East Narrow and elongated ragged loop front followed
at ~18:54 UT, slightly to S, by a another narrow ragged
front. The second front can be seen in C3 (though it
fades out throughout C3 FOV), while the first one is
barely discernible.
15:54 UT W Limb Bright and narrow ragged loop front followed at
19:31 UT by a similar one (though fainter and narrower).
The first one fades in C3.
18:54 UT S Pole Slow development of very faint ragged front.
22:30 UT N Pole Ragged loop front preceded at 21:30 UT by a diffuse
front extending slightly to NW (diffuse front not
discernible in C3). EIT Fe XII images show the eruption
of a filament between ~ 20:00 and 21:00 UT, which by
the time was roughly located at 20 deg N latitude
slightly W of the central meridian.
2004/03/05
04:54 UT N West Blob-like front starting at ~ 4.4 solar radii.
05:30 UT S East Couple of fairly faint ragged fronts developing
towards S.
06:30 UT W Limb Very faint ragged front. It fades throughout C2.
08:10 - 12:15 UT Temporary DSN Data Gap
