LASCO Activity Report for
March 01, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/02/27

06:06 UT S West	Small and faint loop front precedes i) a faint ragged
front that develops slightly to S starting at
11:30 UT, and ii) a brighter ragged front at 13:54 UT.
Gusty outflow. No clear front discernible in C3 FOV.

07:31 UT E Limb	Bright and narrow spray front preceded by infalling
material starting at ~ 3.25 solar radii at 02:30 UT,
and by a jet-like front at 03:30 UT. It fades in C3.

12:30 UT E Limb	Another narrow spray front that fades close to the
			inner edge of C3 FOV.

2004/02/28

03:54 UT N West	Asymmetric loop front. It fades throughout C2.

03:54 UT S East	Ragged loop front with twisted inner structure,
followed at 09:54 UT by a faster and bright spray-like
front. Both events fade throughout C3.

18:30 UT W Limb Narrow ragged loop front that fades close to the inner
edge of C3 FOV. It is followed at 22:30 UT by another
small and faint ragged front, and at 23:30 UT, slightly
to S, by another (brighter) one.

2004/02/29

02:30 UT W Limb	Ragged fronts continue. One at 02:30 UT, another one at
04:30 UT, and a wider one at 06:54 UT. They all fade
close to the inner edge of C3 FOV.

04:30 UT E Limb	Small ragged front that fades in C2.

12:06 UT S West	Bright and wide loop front with cavity and inner core.
At 12:00 UT EIT Fe XII running difference images show
eruption coming from behind the limb on SW. At 16:30 UT,
starting in C2 FOV at ~ 3 solar radii (PA ~ 213 deg)
material is seen falling down. At roughly that time a
			faint loop front develops.

2004/03/01

03:30 UT S West	Following event reported to start at 12:06 UT on
previous day, another faint loop front develops
			toward S.

05:54 UT N West	Spray-like front.

10:06 UT E Limb	Faint spray front developing toward SE, preceded at
09:30 UT by a small and narrow raggged front.
