LASCO Activity Report for
February 23, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/02/20

N East	Gusty outflow all day long.

S West	Continuous (slow) expansion of loops' system along
streamer all day long leading to partial streamer
			blowout.

02:30 UT S East	Fairly faint ragged asymmetric loop front to N of event
at 18:30 UT on previous day, followed at 10:54 UT by
			another smaller one.

06:30 UT S West	Extremely faint ragged front to S of streamer with
faint loop-shaped extensions over the streamer.

10:30 UT W Limb	Extremely faint and narrow spray front. It fades in C2.

12:30 UT E Limb	Extremely faint ragged front. It fades in C2.

14:30 UT S Pole	Faint, narrow and long spray-like front.

2004/02/21

N East	Gusty outflow all day long, most probably related to
			activity on NOAA AR 0564.

00:06 UT S West	Small ragged front followed by gusty outflow.

06:54 UT N East	Small ragged front to S of gusty outflow.

15:30 UT S West	Faint ragged front developing toward S, to S of gusty
			outflow. It fades throughout C3.

2004/02/22

N East	Gusty outflow all day long, most probably related to
			activity on NOAA AR 0564.

02:30 UT N East	Faint ragged front. Barely discernible in C3.

03:30 UT S West	Faint ragged front developing towards S, to S of gusty
outflow. It is followed at ~ 09:54 UT by another faint
ragged front. At 12:30 UT material is seen falling
down starting at ~ 3.65 solar radii (PA ~ 186).

09:54 UT N East	Faint raged front.

15:30 UT W Limb	Bright asymmetric ragged loop front much brighter to N.

17:54 UT W Limb	Bright loop front with cavity and inner core slightly
to N of previous front, developing towards NW. Twisted
			trailing material.

18:54 UT S West	Small and faint ragged front going out, and small blob
falling down. Separation point at ~ 3.1 solar radii
			(PA ~ 198).

2004/02/23

00:30 UT N East	Fairly faint ragged front. Material is being pushed
			aside to N since earlier.

04:06 UT N West	Blob-like front.

05:06 UT N East	Ragged front.

08:30 UT E Limb	Raged loop front developing slightly toward S.
