LASCO Activity Report for
February 20, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/02/19

02:54 UT S West	Faint asymmetric ragged loop front.

05:55 UT S East	Ragged loop front preceded by the slow development
of a loops' system along the streamer. Extremely faint
extensions over the S Pole to SW can be seen developing
by the time. Difficult to discern whether they belong
to the same event or is all part of a complex event.
Moreover, by 13:54 UT a faint system of ragged loops
			can be seen in C2 spanning ~ 120 deg, from PA ~ 115 -
			235. It develops as a very faint partial halo CME.
			GOES B1.6 X-ray flare on S12E80 between 03:26 and
03:34 UT, just in between 2 EIT Fe XII images.
Observational facts are not conclusive to determine
			its direction.

07:31 UT N East	Rapid jet. It fades close to the inner edge of C2.

10:30 UT E Limb	Very faint spray front. It fades throughout C2.

15:30 UT S East	Faint asymmetric ragged front, remnant of earlier
			event.

18:30 UT S East	Very bright, long, and fast spray front followed at
20:06 UT by a very narrow and bright 'blob' slightly
			to N.

21:30 UT W Limb	Spray front. It fades throughout C3.

2004/02/20

02:30 UT S East	Fairly faint ragged asymmetric loop front to N of event
at 18:30 UT on previous day. Still in progress in C3.

10:30 UT W Limb	Extremely faint and narrow spray front.
