LASCO Activity Report for
February 13, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/02/12

01:54 UT S East	Very faint ragged front that fades throughout C2.

05:54 UT N West	Very faint spray-like front. It fades throughout C2.

13:31 UT N East	Fast narrow spray-like front. It fades throughout C2.

2004/02/13

02:06 UT S East	Typical '3-part' CME structure with a bright leading
edge, cavity and twisted core material. The mean
			plane-of-sky speed averages 440 km/sec at PA ~121
based on C3 data, showing slight acceleration in C2 fov.
EIT/FeXII images clearly show the ejecta coming out
			from behind the solar disk.

02:30 UT W Limb	Extremely faint ragged front that vanishes in C2,
preceded at ~19:31 UT on previous day by infalling
material, and followed at 04:30 UT by another small and
			faint ragged front.

08:30 - 12:06 UT	Temporary DSN Data Gap

12:06 UT N Pole	Wide and asymmetric (slow) event in progress. Time of
first appearance in C2 missed due to temporary data gap.
