LASCO Activity Report for
February 5, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/02/04

	  S East	The 'slow-development-of-a-loop's-system-along-streamer'
event reported to start at 00:06 UT on previous day
continues slow development resulting in a complete
'streamer blowout' by 08:54 UT (C2). Difficult to
determine exact time of first appearance. At 06:42 UT
(C3 Time) a structured inner core first appears in C3
fov, moving faster than the loops' front LE. Gusty
outflow follows from where the inner core appeared, all
along the day and into next day.

00:30 UT N East Ragged loops' system develops slowly 'inside' streamer.
At ~ 06:30 UT follows twisted material moving faster,
slightly to S (difficult to determine exact time).
			Outflow continues into next day.

00:30 UT E Limb	Narrow and faint spray front followed by another one
at 02:54 UT, at PA that roughly matches that of the
northern footpoint of streamer blowout event. They
			fade in C2.

07:31 UT E Limb Fairly faint and elongated loop front. It fades
			throughout C3.

11:54 UT W Limb	Fast bright loop front and cavity. Some trailing
			material.

11:54 UT N West Fairly diffuse front. It fades close to the inner edge
			of C2 fov.

12:54 UT S East	Extremely faint ragged front spanning ~90 deg from PA
~ 80-170. Trailing part of streamer blowout?

15:30 UT S East	Fairly faint asymmetric loop front.

2004/02/05

01:31 UT W Limb	Bright ragged loop front with twisted trailing material.

05:30 UT N West	Extremely narrow spray-like front slightly N of previous
			event. It fades in C2.

08:30 UT W Limb	Bright ragged loop front.

10:54 UT W Limb	Another bright ragged front developing to S, at PA of
the southern leg of event at 08:30 UT, in progress.
