LASCO Activity Report for
January 29, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/01/28

S East	Gusty outflow continues in the form of narrow ragged
spray-like fronts at PA of the southern leg of event
on 2004/01/27 at 20:30 UT until around 19:31 UT. Also,
			some small infalling blobs.

00:30 UT S West	An initially very slow loop front followed by twisted
inner core (flux rope-like) develops in 'streamer
blowout'. At 12:18 UT (LE at ~15 solar radii) the
			plane-of-sky speed of the LE reaches ~ 450 km/s.

06:30 UT N West	Very faint, narrow, elongated, and diffuse front. It
			fades throughout C2.

07:31 UT S Pole	Faint loop front to S of previous event. It vanishes
close to the inner edge of C3 fov.

10:54 UT W Limb Extremely faint ragged asymmetric loop front developing
slightly to S. Barely visible in C3.

18:54 UT W Limb	Faint ragged asymmetric loop front developing slightly
to S. Barely visible in C3.

23:54 UT E Limb	Faint ragged front. It fades throughout C2.

2004/01/29

04:54 UT E Limb	Fast narrow ragged loop front brightest to N that
surpasses a slow rising loop front. Barely visible
			in C3.

05:54 UT S East	Fairly faint twisted (elongated) material.

05:54 UT S West Extremely faint ragged spray front. It fades throughout
			C2.
