LASCO Activity Report for
January 12, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2004/01/09

02:06 UT S East	Strong flux rope type event with cavity
			and core. Twisted interior structure.

02:30 UT N East Jet. It fades throughout C2.

02:54 UT N East Faint ragged asymmetric loop front; its
northern leg at the position of the jet at
			02:30 UT.

05:30 UT N East Ragged narrow loop front to S of event at
			02:54 UT.

22:06 UT W Limb	Extremely faint ragged/diffuse loop front.

23:06 UT S West Spray-like front.

2004/01/10

05:30 UT N East	Bright ragged loop front with twisted
			trailing material. Gusty ourflow follows.

05:54 UT S West	Very faint ragged loop front and slight cavity.
			Not discernible in C3.

07:42 UT N Pole	"Boomerang-type" front. Time given for C3.

22:30 UT N East	Loop front much brighter to N with cavity
			and trailing material.

2004/01/11

00:30 UT N West Very faint spray-like front.

11:30 UT N West Spray front.

18:30 UT E Limb	Ragged front precedes big event at 20:30 UT.

20:30 UT S East	Big loop front with cavity and twisted inner
			structure. Loop-shaped outflow follows at
S Pole. At 06:18 UT on 2004/01/12 spans
~140 deg from PA 80-220. No related activity
at the time seen on EIT images. The event has
therefore being determined as a 'partial' halo
most probably backsided. For more details see:

2004/01/12

06:30 UT E Limb	Ragged fan-like front. It fades throughout C2.

10:06 UT S East	Ragged front.
