LASCO Activity Report for
January 08, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO is back now from the telemetry keyhole, again with
high rate telemetry.

2004/01/07

02:30 UT W Limb	Faint ragged front with some trailing material.

03:30 UT S East	Narrow spray-like front prior to the big
			event at 04:06 UT.

04:06 UT S East	Fairly wide and bright loop front with
cavity and trailing material. It surpases the
			previous jet.

05:54 UT S West	Spray-like front along streamer.

10:06 UT E Limb	Fairly well defined loop front with cavity
and inner core develops in partial halo CME.
			M8.3 X-ray flare from NOAA AR 0537 at N06E75.

11:06 UT N East	"Explosive" loop front with cavity at the
			northern leg of previous event.

13:54 UT S West	Faint ragged front prior to event at 16:54 UT.

16:54 UT S Pole	Sequence of faint wide loop fronts develops
in a faint partial halo CME. At the time of
writing, C3 images available only up to
00:18 UT due to a temporary DSN data gap
(event at ~19 solar radii, spanning ~120 deg).

19:54 UT N East Spray-like front.
