LASCO Activity Report for
January 06, 2004 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

SOHO is now in a telemetry keyhole, with roughly
30% data coverage. LASCO data will consist of
typically two (occasionally three) continuous
periods of real-time data per day

2004/01/05

	00:00 - 09:20 UT	Data Gap

09:40 UT S East	Asymmetric loop front with cavity and
			inner core already in progress,

11:00 UT S East	Ragged loop front possibly residual to
			previous event.

	11:40 - 16:20 UT	Data Gap

16:40 UT S East	Remnant material of previous event

16:40 UT N West	Very faint ragged asymmetric loop-like
			front already in progress.

18:00 UT E Limb	Fairly well-defined loop front is brightest
to S, develops asymmetry in C3.

19:20 UT S East	Ragged loop front to south of previous
			event.

21:17 UT S East	Ragged asymmetric loop front with cavity
			and core material.

	22:00 - 00:00 UT Data Gap

2004/01/06

	00:00 - 09:20 UT	Data Gap

08:53 UT E Limb	Partial halo CME already close to edge of
C3 field of view after data gap. 6 images
only. Time of first image given for C3.
			M5.8 X-ray flare from E90
