December 9, 2002 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
The bright object presently exiting the S
in C3 images is Alpha-Scorpio (Antares)
2002/12/06
13:31 UT N East Narrow ragged front, slight trailing material
23:54 UT N East Very narrow bright spray, same PA as
previous event, others at 04:30,
07:31, 09:30 following day
2002/12/07
10:34 UT E Limb Sequence of faint thin well-defined
loop fronts fade through C2
14:30 UT N East Narrow bright ragged loop front along
streamer, prolonged gusty outflow
14:54 UT N East Fainter ragged front along distinct portion
of wide bright streamer complex, somewhat
to N of previous event
2002/12/08
20:30 UT N East Faint narrow spray
23:06 UT N West Sequence of faint slow ragged loop fronts
that fade and disintegrate through C2,
EIT limb event
23:54 UT S East Thin bright well-defined loop front with
clear cavity and bright complex core, then
much trailing material and streamer deflected
in NE. EIT CME just inside SE limb
2002/12/09
03:06 UT E Limb Initially narrow ragged loop front,
quite faint, widens through C2,
possibly residual to previous event
04:30 UT E Limb Fairly wide bright spray-like front
channelled initially non-radially along
streamer, possibly residual to earlier
event
06:06 UT E Limb Faint ragged spray-like front,
possibly residual to previous event
