LASCO Activity Report for
September 5, 2002 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

None today.

2002/09/04

00:06 UT W Limb	Another ragged loop front with cavity,
			others at 02:54, 03:30

04:54 UT W Limb	Bright loop front, quite wide and asymmetric,
cavity and some trailing material. Most
substantial of all W limb events today

06:54 UT E Limb	Initially bright loop front fades through C2

08:54 UT N East	Moderately narrow but fast, bright front
along streamer enhances and accelerates slow
			core-like region from previous event

11:30 UT E Limb	Moderately bright loop front, similar width
to 06:54 event but brighter and more coherent.
Brightest in NE probably due to integration
			with part of 08:54 event

11:30 UT W Limb	Further faint ragged loop fronts that
			fade through C2

12:06 - 15:54 UT	Temporary DSN data gap

19:54 UT W Limb	Moderately bright nebulous loop front with
			cavity, slight trailing material. Possible
			extremely faint extension towards poles
to span ~150 deg by 21:08

21:30 UT S West	Narrow loop front, initially quite bright

23:06 UT S East	Faint loop front, fades through C2

2002/09/05

06:30 UT E Limb	Extremely faint loop front

07:31 UT N West	Moderately wide loop front along streamer,
			brightest to N, slight cavity

08:06 UT W Limb	Ragged asymmetric loop front fades through
			C2, further fainter fronts follow

11:30 UT N East	Narrow front along streamer, quite bright
