LASCO Activity Report for
September 4, 2002 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

EIT CCD bakeout now ended, regular EIT observatons
from 2002/09/03 21:30 UT

2002/09/03

00:25 UT N East	Narrow loop front fades through C2

01:25 UT N East	Small bright blob along streamer appears
to catch, brighten and accelerate faint
slow-moving disconnection feature at ~4 Rs

02:05 UT W Limb	Ragged loop front disintegrates and fades
			through C2

08:30 - 15:00 UT	Temporary DSN data gap

<15:05 UT S East	Nebulous multiple loop front system,
			fairly faint

16:25 UT W Limb	Ragged loop front and cavity along streamer,
			another at 19:25

19:59 UT W Limb	Narrow but thick bright loop front with
			cavity, follows previous events, faster

23:54 UT E Limb	Very faint loop front, quite wide

2002/09/04

00:06 UT W Limb	Another ragged loop front with cavity

01:31 - 04:30 UT	Temporary DSN data gap

04:54 UT W Limb	Bright loop front, quite wide and asymmetric,
cavity and some trailing material. Most
substantial of all W limb events today

06:54 UT E Limb	Initially bright loop front fades through C2

08:54 UT N East	Moderately narrow but fast, bright front
along streamer enhances and accelerates slow
			core-like region from previous event

11:30 UT E Limb	Moderately bright loop front, similar width
to 06:54 event but brighter and more coherent.
Brightest in NE probably due to integration
			with part of 08:54 event
